Red Bull Minors Cup 04.02.11 @ Brighton Resort
Twenty young riders pushed their limits on the peak above the Millicent Lift in Brighton. Hand picked by industry pros, there was no shortage of big tricks. Throwing themselves down cliffs and steep, rocky chutes, there were no dull moments apart from the time it took for them to hike back up the peak for a second run, giving us all plenty of time to enjoy the plethora of Red Bull beverages. They were judged on difficulty, fluidity, innovation of tricks and time.

King of the Hipsters
Friday, March 18th, I found myself in Plum alley surrounded by Fixies. If you dont know what a Fixie is, its a fixed gear bicycle where the turn crank is attached by chain to the back wheel, and this is the preferred form of transportation for the “hipster” of this day and age, although not all the riders rocked Fixies. The event King of The Hipsters is an annual happening where bikers pay to compete for prizes as well as street cred. The game is simple, ride around Salt Lake City collecting bits of information and the first one to the finish line is crowned king. The only rule, there are no rules.

Free-Ski World Tour Finals Stop: Snowbird 03.12.11
Saturday the 12th of March, I headed up to Snowbird in the sunshine to join in with countless others in watching the Free-ski World Tour final stop, on Silver Fox, for the semi finals. With perfect snow and sunshine the competitors were going big and not going home. Plenty of huge airs, fat slashes and even a few slippy spinnies were seen off the natural features Silver Fox had to offer. 15 men and 10 women moved onto the qualifiers the next day on North Baldy, with Angel Collinson taking first for the ladies and
Drew Tabke taking it for the men. It was an awesome day with the crowd having just as much, if not more fun, than the skiers. Photos by Max Lowe.
