Cosmic Troubles, Jessica Jalbert’s debut with the moniker Faith Healer, is an explosively rich album that weaves playfully through psychedelic guitar harmonies reminiscent of a late 1970s-era Keith Richards and is kept afloat by Jalbert’s nonchalant, saccharine vocals. Cosmic Troubles perfectly fuses shoegaze-inspired, lo-fi rock with an alluring element of psychedelic garage jams, resulting in an album that’s hard to resist from beginning to end. Jalbert shows vocal restraint in all the right places, which works in her favor to create one of the more enjoyable albums I’ve heard this year. –Kristyn Porter
