If You Leave starts off with a grand and bold introduction with the song, “Winter,” and that intensity remains pretty consistently throughout the 10-track LP. Lead singer Elena Tonra has a voice as haunting as Fiona Apple as her voice croons with a load of depth to her despair. “Human” was the most danceable song on the album, or as danceable as you can get while feeling like a “skull cage like a prison,” in Tonra’s words, but I dug the frustration in the jam. The entirety of If You Leave remains pretty melancholic, so I’d recommend listening to it alone or in an intimate gathering to avoid dragging everyone down, but it would definitely be appropriate for a stormy day or a long drive through a blank landscape. –Brinley Froelich
