Griff: Vertigo World Tour @ The Depot 09.30

Concert

Griff‘s performance at The Depot in Salt Lake City was an enchanting dive into her musical world highlighted by tracks from her debut album Vertigo and beyond. The intimate space of The Depot set the stage for Griff to not just perform but to connect deeply with her audience, turning each song into a shared moment of intimacy and emotion.

The night started with the haunting title track “Vertigo,” setting a tone of emotional depth that Griff maintained throughout the performance. Songs like “19th Hour” and “Walk” were performed with a live intensity that the studio versions tease but never fully capture. However, the true magic unfolded when Griff took her acoustic set into the crowd’s heart.

During this acoustic segment, Griff performed “So Fast” and “Everlasting,” but the highlight of the evening for me was the unreleased song “Head Under The Water.” This was more than a performance; it was an intimate exchange, with Griff strumming her guitar amidst fans who were as much a part of the moment as she was. The acoustics of The Depot, combined with Griff’s clear, emotive voice, filled the space with a warmth that felt both comforting and exhilarating,

Griff emerged with “Astronaut” for the encore as her voice instantly captured the room’s attention. Its haunting melody and introspective lyrics set the stage for a deeply personal connection. Griff’s rendition was not merely a song, but a moment where she shared her innermost thoughts, her voice weaving through the quiet venue with clarity. This performance of “Astronaut” wasn’t just heard; it was felt, enveloping everyone in an embrace of shared emotions.

Griff wrapped up the encore with “Tears for Fun,” which left everyone on a high note. The concert was a journey through Griff’s musical evolution, marked by its climax in the acoustic set—a moment where music, artist and audience became one. Griff’s performance at The Depot was a uniquely intimate emotional experience, making it a memorable chapter in Salt Lake City’s music history.
