Brewstillery
A little heat never stopped anyone from catching a buzz on a summer weekend, especially when the buzz in question came from the crafts of all-local brewers and distillers. SLUG Mag ’s Brewstillery 2024 featured over 30 brewers and distillers from all over Utah with a wide variety of unique drinks for all palates! Attendees purchased tokens which could then be exchanged for tastings of their craft beer and spirits.
Of course, it’s hard to keep up drinking on an empty stomach—luckily, Brewstillery had more than enough savory (and sweet) treats for all to enjoy from a variety of food trucks, including BBQ (Korean AND American), corn dogs, tacos and coffee!
Though Brewstillery is a booze-forward event, that doesn’t mean it’s just for drinkers. Drinking or not, attendees watched captivating performers, from drag queen roasts and Heidi Butterfly and Chad Rockstar ’s stilt walking to Benjamin Wiemeyer ’s live painting demonstration and outstanding DJ sets from DJ Jon Jon Chen , DJ Stitch and DJ Andy Doors ! At the Unplugged Wellness Retreats booth, attendees could beat the heat with an ice bath, or beat each other in a hopscotch challenge.
While Utah has an outstanding number of breweries and distilleries, it’s also home to some very talented crafters. Brewstillery attendees lined up to have their portraits sketched at the Hand Drawn Photo Booth, purchase sweet new threads from Planet Sleaze , pick up some finely-crafted leather bags from Lyman & Brown Leather Goods and even snatch up some ceramics and embroidered goods!
Whether you had your summer splurge on drink tokens with a special pink Planned Parenthood mug to boot, or were satisfied by the Red Bull supply and outdoor shopping experience, we hope Brewstillery 2024 was the highlight of your summer weekend outings (at least so far). Keep an eye out for the announcement of Brewstillery 2025 !
