"I've been interested in design since I was young," says Beecher. "Since I was a small child, I was collecting rocks and bottles and curating little collections to put in my room. I've got a home video of me getting super excited, at age seven, that I received curtains and a bedspread set from Santa Claus. When every other kid is super stoked about toys, I was like, 'Woo! Curtains!'" Photo: Tyson Call @clancycoop
Andrea Beecher, along with Brian Garrett and Jason Frederick make up M3LD, a design firm and manufacturer of sculptural home decor. Beecher is a living embodiment of the aesthetic of M3LD’s products, usually looking chic in mid-century modern–inspired style. She also helped start the design division at cityhomeCollective, a purveyor of some of Salt Lake City’s most beautiful living spaces.
Every month, SLUG Style features a distinct and unique member of the community and asks them why they do what they do. Exploring more than just clothing, SLUG Style is an attempt to feature the people who give Salt Lake City flavor through personality and panache.
