Friday night January 21st saw the opening of SLC artist Dan Christofferson's solo show at Blonde Grizzly entitled Terrible.Gentle.Man. Christofferson focuses on strong colors, strong lines, and the questions of who we are and why.
The show displayed new work by Christofferson which touches upon local and global questions of inner existence and outer perceptions. One of the most interesting and visually strong pieces is entitled Wasatch, which seemed to be a direct social commentary on what those on the 'right' in SLC might feel to be proper, but which many more find more off-putting than comforting. The matryoshka featured in several of Christofferson's pieces demand that we look inside to find how we function, while asking that we look outside to find the reason why.
Terrible.Gentle.Man shows through Tuesday, February 11th at Blonde Grizzly on 15 E. and 400 S. Check it out before it's gone!
