Once again, SLUG is excited to present coverage of the Slamdance Film Festival. Running from Jan. 19–25 in Park City, Utah, the festival offers new works from independent and emerging filmmakers throughout the world. Within this year’s selection of narrative features, documentaries and shorts, audiences confront nontraditional romance stories in Fake Tattoos, surreal urban explorations in Charlie and Hannah’s Grand Night Out and, as can be expected, powerful ruminations on contemporary sociopolitical life in Freedom for the Wolf, Man on Fire and others. See below for a selection of reviews by various SLUG staff and writers.
Head to Slamdance’s official website for more information, and check back daily during the festival for continued coverage and reviews from SLUG.
