Boats = Burial + Volcano Choir
Boats is a two-part album release featuring a myriad of artists that nearly all utilize vocal samples from the Light of Love Children’s Choir. The proceeds from the album all go to charity, which I totally dig. The tracks themselves are all completely diverse and seemingly reflect a sense of community and love. With outstanding musicians such as Four Tet, Deerhoof, Jamie Stewart and Rustie, you can’t help but fall in love with the dynamic, symphonic vibrations of this project. Even though there were a few tracks that seemed out of place, songs like “Gillie Amma, I Love You,” by Four Tet, and “Play The Hand” instantly made me forget about them. This compilation is a tribal and spiritual testament of the real power of music. –Kamryn Feigel
