Year after year, SLUG has provided cutting-edge coverage of the Slamdance Film Festival. Founded in 1995, this filmmaker-run festival showcases raw and innovative works by new, emerging and first-time artists and storytellers from all over the world. This year, Slamdance’s lineup comprises a mélange of stunning narrative features, documentaries, shorts and more. The films offer audiences anything from the hilarity of Strad Style to the absurdity of Dave Made a Maze to the slow burn of The Family. No matter the film, each work imbues its viewers with the creative force of independent film.
The 2017 Slamdance Film Festival runs Jan. 20–26 and is held at Park City’s Treasure Mountain Inn. For more information, tickets and festival schedules, visit Slamdance’s official website.
