Lexi Sayok = Neon Trees + Big Gun Baby
Anxious starts with sophisticated wah-ing crashes into synth and electro vocals. Then there’s descending keys working into dancy beats. Now enters the dramatic-punkerteen vocals. In small quantities, it might be fine, but after a couple repeating lines it gets very irritating.
In “Reputations,” I’m not sure what’s really going on. The pre-teen forced growl fades and the “tender” side tries to shine. A few “whoaaohrrr’s” and it’s about time for a break. I can almost dig the synths and bits of bass to drums, but the “I’m-so-punk” vocals throw-off the whole deal.
