Damn These Heels, the Mountain West’s longest-running LGBTQ film festival, returns to Downtown SLC for its 15th year. In addition to the 23 feature films being showcased, the festival is celebrating their landmark anniversary with extra parties, post-film discussions and other special events. Between unabashedly truthful documentaries and colorful narrative films, as well as the new addition of a 48 Hour Film Project, Damn These Heels offers a wide portrait of the unique, constantly evolving LGBTQ experiences that shape the world’s realities.
Because of this commitment to showcase some of the year’s finest films, Damn These Heels continues to be one of Salt Lake’s premier summer events. Once again, SLUG returns to provide coverage of some of the films set to be featured throughout the weekend. Continue to check back as the week goes to find an updated series of reviews from SLUG contributing writers Lois Brady, Naomi Clegg and Parker Scott Mortenson, as well as Associate Editor Kathy Rong Zhou.
The 2018 edition of Damn These Heels runs from July 20–22 at the Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center. To find more information and purchase tickets, visit utahfilmcenter.org/dth2018. Enjoy the festival, and here’s to another 15 years of Damn These Heels!
